Aetna Silk City Cyclocross Race


The amount of work that goes into promoting and hosting a race is always under estimated; that is until your team hosts its own race. And so it was that Dave and Jon worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pull together a first class race in the Connecticut CX series that did the team proud - with all the little details like custom tools for prizes, trophies for every kid participant, smooth registration, great food trucks and of course a first class race course.

The weather was extremely hot, and the conditions were dry, fast and dusty. All the participants enjoyed the racing, with the challenging run ups and off camber grass sections evening out the constant demand for pure power.

A nice touch was Dave "Heavy D" Wells coming in to announce for the day, and the biggest kids field seen at a local cross race ever.

The team had great results too, with several podiums and lots of enthusiasm. The AETNA - Expowheelmen are off to a great start for the 2016 season.
