

Winning the Canadian Championship
I am very happy and relieved to report that I won the Canadian National Championships for my age group, 40-49, for the 2nd time in my career. As a main focus, perhaps the main focus, of my entire season, it is a relief to have all the hard work pay off. Orchard Cross @Applecrest Farm Orchard
I had originally planned to skip racing this weekend and focus on training... With the weather looking nice and me itching for a bit of CX action, I had two choices, stay local and race Cheshire CX (great race venue!) or take a day trip up to Applecrest Farm Orchard in Hampton Falls, NH; 2 hours drive. Cheshire CX - Hero Dirt!
I had heard about Cheshire Cx for years, and finally had a chance to go this past weekend. It has a reputation of being the best of grassroots fun, and it really was. A ripping good time of a woods section (hero dirt!), and the deafening roar of the Hill People on Heckle Hill, made it hard not to grin. We also got to line up with Jan Bolland Tanner in the Women's 123! A hero in her own right. After leading for a lap, and then trading spots back and forth with Caitlin Szy
